Cannabis, Hemp and Psilocybin Law

Zimmerman Law Group provides legal services to entrepreneurs seeking to take advantage of the rapidly expanding business opportunities afforded by the legalization of cannabis for medicinal and recreational purposes. These business opportunities continue to increase as more states legalize marijuana for medicinal and recreational purposes.

We also provide legal services to entrepreneurs seeking to take advantage of the expanding business opportunities afforded by the medical community’s growing acceptance of the mental health benefits provided by psilocybin mushrooms to persons suffering from anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (“PTSD”). These business opportunities are also increasing because of both the recent decriminalization of psilocybin in certain cities, and ongoing efforts to decriminalize/legalize psilocybin in more parts of the country.

The legal services we offer in these fields include negotiating and drafting contracts; protecting and/or licensing intellectual property; ensuring compliance with governmental regulations, and resolving disputes through litigation and other means. These services can be provided whether you are or seek to become a grower, distributor, processor, investor, or involved in some other manner in cannabis, hemp, or psilocybin-related business.

State and municipal laws governing the production, processing, sale, and use of cannabis, hemp, and psilocybin, respectively, are complex, evolving, and often contradictory. These respective state and municipal laws were enacted and are being enforced despite conflicting with federal law which prohibits both the consumption let alone sale of marijuana or psilocybin mushrooms.

We are proud to be working with physicians helping to make cannabis and psilocybin more readily available to treat the many military veterans who continue to suffer unnecessarily from anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Zimmerman Law Group’s principal Jean-Marc Zimmerman has been accredited as an Attorney by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to prosecute claims by veterans for VA benefits. We also provide pro bono legal services to several veteran-owned businesses.
